To empower women and girls in Zanzibar through comprehensive education, vocational training, and community support programs that foster economic independence, leadership skills, and sustainable development.

From a Dream to a Movement
Women's Rising Organization began in 2015 with a simple but powerful idea: that every woman deserves the chance to thrive. Our founder, Amina Hassan, witnessed firsthand the untapped potential in her community and decided to act.
Starting with just 20 women in a small community center, we provided basic literacy classes and vocational training. Today, we have grown into a movement that has touched the lives of over 5,000 women and girls across 25 communities.
Our journey has been one of perseverance, community support, and unwavering belief in the power of women. Every milestone we achieve strengthens our resolve to do more, reach further, and dream bigger.

Founded
Women's Rising Organization was established with a vision to empower women.
